What can I do to reduce my bill?

If you are looking at trying to reduce your monthly bills, there are a few options available for you:

 Review your plans

If it’s been a while since you changed your plans, chances are something new, better and cheaper has come out since then. We can review your current plans and make recommendations for alternative plans that may assist in reducing your monthly bills.

If you often exceed your monthly inclusions, moving to a higher plan could end up saving you tens, if not hundreds, of dollars a month as these plans will have higher inclusions.

Bundling your services
If you have different services with different providers, it’s unlikely you are getting the best deal. By consolidating all your services on to one monthly bill, you could be saving a lot of money by having a bundle plan with eligible monthly discounts. This will also make tracking your usage and payments a much simpler process!

Bar all 190 calls:
190 numbers are generally competition lines, paid hotlines and voting services – these are called “special calls” and are not included in your monthly plan inclusions. By placing a block on these calls, it will stop any temptation or accidental connection to these lines.

Reduce mobile data usage
One of the biggest reasons monthly bills are high is because of exceeded mobile data usage. To help with staying within your plan’s inclusions, make sure:

  • Your devices are connected to Wi-Fi when possible
  • You close your applications once you’ve finished using them to avoid any background usage
  • You keep an eye on your usage during the billing cycle

Make sure every phone call is ended properly
This may seem simple – but not hanging up properly after a phone call is a really common thing to do, and can result in phone calls that go for hours. Making sure the receiver is placed back properly, or that the phone app has closed fully is the best way to make sure you’re not getting charged for any extra minutes.

Applying overseas pricing caps
If you make regular calls to overseas numbers from your home phone, applying a 30-minute pricing cap to your service can significantly reduce the cost of these calls. You automatically have a 10-minute cap on your service, but you can request to change this to a 30-minute cap by giving us a quick call.
