My Home Phone Isn’t Working, What Do I Do?
Having a problem with your home telephone service?
Here’s a step-by-step process you can follow to quickly and easily determine what the problem is.
We recommend completing a simple Isolation Test. Please note, this process only applies to copper (PTSN) Home Phone Services.
You will need to unplug all equipment from all the phone sockets on the premises - including handsets, line filters, modems, and faxes.
Once this is done, leave everything unplugged for 5 minutes
Then, plug a single CORDED handset into your phone socket. This is the ideal method to test if your phone lines are working properly.
If you don’t have a corded handset available, you can alternately test your cordless handset on a working line, such as a neighbour’s or a friend.
This process can help to determine if a problem exists within your phone line or within your equipment.
Does your phone line work with a corded phone? If so, the equipment is the problem and replacing it should solve your issue.
If an Isolation Test reveals that your phone lines aren’t functioning properly, simply contact us on 13 14 64 and we can initiate the process of having a technician locate the source of the problem and solve it. If an appointment with a technician is required, our team will confirm a time that you can be home.
