Everything you need to know about your Southern Phone bill, including billing cycles, payment options, charges and available support if you need help managing payments.

Southern Phone is currently migrating to a new network. As part of this network migration, there are currently two bill formats. Select the option below that matches your service status.

If you have received confirmation that your service has been successfully transferred, use the bill explainer below to understand your new bill format.

Your billing cycle

When your service is connected, we'll send your first invoice. This invoice covers your service charges for the upcoming month.

After that, you'll receive an invoice on the same date each month. For example, if your first invoice is issued on 12 January, future invoices will typically be issued on 12 February, 12 March and so on.

If you pay by direct debit or credit card, your payment due date is 10 business days after your invoice is issued. Business days do not include weekends or public holidays, so your due date may vary from month to month.

For all other payment methods, payments are due 7 calendar days after the invoice issue date. You can find your exact due date on your invoice.

Understanding your invoice

Amount due
This is the total amount payable for your account. It includes any new charges on this invoice, as well as any unpaid amounts carried over from previous invoices
Account summary
This section provides a snapshot of your recent billing activity, including your current invoice and the previous three invoices.

You'll find:
- Invoice breakdown: a summary of the charges included on your current invoice and any outstanding amounts.
- Previous month: details of your last invoice, including the amount due and whether payment has been received.
- Recent invoices: a summary of your two most recent invoices, including invoice numbers, issue dates and amounts due.
Account name and address
This displays the billing name and address associated with your Southern Phone account.
Due date
The due date is the date by which payment must be received for the current invoice.

If you're paying by Direct Debit, you'll also see a debit date, which is the date we'll attempt to process payment using your nominated payment method.

Please note:
- Any outstanding invoices will retain their own debit dates.
- Previous unpaid invoices will not be charged on the debit date shown for your current invoice.
- If you pay your invoice before the scheduled debit date, no additional payment attempt will be made.
Account details
This section contains important details about your invoice and account.
- Issue Date: the date the invoice was generated.
- Invoice Number: the unique reference number for that invoice.
- Customer Number: your Southern Phone account number, which may be requested when you contact our support team.
- Payment Method: the payment method currently set up on your account.
How to pay your account
This section explains how your payment will be processed.

Where Direct Debit is set up, we'll only debit the amount listed as due on the current invoice. Any outstanding invoices will continue to follow their own payment schedules.
Payments, adjustments and new charges
A list of the services being billed. If there are any credits or discounts applied, it will show here.

Next to any nbn® services, we will also include your Access Virtual Circuit (AVC) ID, used to represent your unique NBN service once it is connected.
Billing period
This section shows the period covered by your invoice. In most cases, your invoice is issued in advance and covers the upcoming month of service.

You'll receive your invoice on the first day of the billing period.
