Southern Phone Company caught by its own success

Southern Phone Company is one of the largest and most successful providers of fixed-line, mobile and internet communications services in regional Australia.

Customers who have been trying to contact Southern Phone Company recently have found it difficult to contact the company with growing wait times on the telephone.

Southern Phone Company has experienced significant growth and demand for their products and services, particularly in NBN service delivery, has exceeded the capacity of their customer service systems.

Managing Director David Joss has responded to customer problems, "We are urgently investing in new technology and employing more staff.

“We expect that we will be back to business as usual in the next few weeks.

"These issues are only growing pains. Our customers phone, mobile and internet services have not been impacted.”

"Our office here in Moruya employs over 130 staff and we are very proud of what we have achieved but our growth rate has really caught us by surprise," Joss said.

"We are committed to delivering industry leading, local customer service and we don’t like to disappoint. We really appreciate our customers understanding while we work to resolve this temporary issue.”
