Footy Day Fundraiser

Share

On Wednesday 12 July 2017, Southern Phone hosted a ‘Footy Fundraiser’ to support Batemans Bay local Eli Chatfield. Eli is 11 years old and in the fight of his life after recently being diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour.

Eli, a member of the Batemans Bay Tigers Junior Rugby League Club is a football fanatic, expressing to his mum that the worse thing about his illness is the fact that he can’t play footy.

To show our support for Eli and his family, staff wore football jerseys and supplied home-baked goods which were purchased by Southern Phone through means of donations. Maintaining the theme of the day, members of the staff then sold hot dogs and canned drinks for lunch.

Not only was the day a great fundraising success, but also highly entertaining and enjoyable for staff.

All proceeds raised through the sale of baked goods and hot dogs, as well as the generous donations of staff throughout the day, will be passed onto Eli and his family.

Southern Phone are very proud to be donating a total of $1,020.00 to Eli and his family. We extend our best wishes and thoughts to this courageous family and endeavour to support their journey throughout this time.
