Upgrade to an nbn® FTTP service 

Customers currently on nbn Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or nbn Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) technologies may be eligible for an nbn Fibre to the Premise (FTTP) Upgrade. Learn more below.

If you’re connected to nbn network via Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or nbn Fibre to the Curb (FTTC), you may be eligible to upgrade to nbn Fibre to the Premise (FTTP) at no extra charge.  

Upgrading to FTTP will give you access to our higher speed plans, which are designed to help you do more online including: 

·      Have multiple people online at the same time 

·      Work from home and video calls 

·      Stream high-definition video (4K) 

·      Play online games 


How to upgrade from FTTN to FTTP

If your address is eligible for an upgrade, you’ll need to order an nbn Fast plan or higher and remain on this plan for a minimum of 12 months. If you cancel or downgrade your nbn plan to a plan below nbn Fast within 12 months, you’ll be charged a one-off cancellation fee of $200 (including GST). Read full terms.


How to upgrade from FTTC to FTTP

If your address is eligible for an upgrade, you’ll need to order an nbn Superfast plan or higher and remain on this plan for a minimum of 12 months. If you cancel or downgrade your nbn plan to a plan below nbn Superfast within 12 months, you’ll be charged a one-off cancellation fee of $200 (including GST). How to check your eligibility
 

1.       Go to the nbnco website 

2.       Enter your address to see if you may be eligible for an upgrade 

3.       Call us on 13 14 64 to ask about upgrading to FTTP  


Is installation work required

nbn co will undertake pre-activation work before the upgrade can occur. If nbn co determines that installation charges will apply, you will be responsible for those charges. 

An appointment may be required for the upgrade to occur. If an appointment is required, a person over the age of 18 must be present at the address at the time of the appointment. If you miss an appointment, you may incur a fee.
