Our $2 million commitment to regional communities

Southern Phone was formed with the goal of delivering affordable and reliable telecommunications to regional Australians. On top of helping Australians connect, Southern Phone also returns annual dividends to our local council shareholders. This has meant that in the past few years we have returned more than $12 million to Australian regional communities.

In 2014, we introduced the Southern Phone Grants Scheme as a way to further extend our support for Australian communities. This scheme saw us donate $25,000 to each of our local council shareholders, which they could then share between well-deserving groups within their local regions. This was our $1 million commitment to regional Australia.

The two year trial period for the Southern Phone Grants Scheme has now finished. Southern Phone is currently evaluating if the Grants Scheme will continue during the 2016/17 financial year.
