Moruya Office Closure

Share

The past few days have been tough across many parts of Australia, including significant impact on our local community in the NSW South Coast.

Power and communications remain down in some areas, including our Moruya office.

With significant fire risk threatening the region where Southern Phone is headquartered, as well as road closures limiting access, we made the decision to close the Moruya office to keep staff safe for the remainder of this week.

Many of our staff were impacted by the New Year’s Eve fires and sadly some of our people are confirmed to have lost their homes.

For our impacted customers, we have enacted our disaster response plans. As communications are restored, we will be in touch with you directly with information.

We are speaking regularly with Optus, Telstra and NBN. However, in some areas they are still assessing the damage to infrastructure.

This weekend’s conditions are forecasted to be similar to New Years Eve across the region. Updated information will be posted once the danger period has past and we have assessed the impact to our team, customers and business operations.

Our Bendigo office is taking customer service calls. However, most of our technical support staff are concentrated in Moruya, so there will be some delays for our customers. If your enquiry is not time critical, we ask that you first visit www.southernphone.com.au to try and answer your query or delay making contact until we have our Moruya office operational again.

We're proud to be part of the Moruya community. Many of our team, friends and customers have been directly impacted by the fires and our immediate focus is on assisting them as best as we can.

Outside of the bushfire affected areas, your phone, mobile and internet services will not be impacted and will operate as normal.

Thank you for your understanding and your patience at this difficult time.
