Southern Phone will provide services through the National Broadband Network as the network develops.
These services will be delivered by fibre to the home, fixed wireless and satellite.
While a number of sites around Australia are undergoing trials, no fully commercial services are available on the NBN.
We will provide plans and pricing as soon as NBN Co is able to connect commercial services.
How will I know when my home is being connected to the NBN?
If you're with Southern Phone for your home phone or internet - we'll contact you.
What will change when I'm switched over?
NBN Co will provide a new device to connect your home or business to the NBN (known as a network termination device). It will be placed inside your home and will allow you to take up the home phone and broadband services that Southern Phone will provide over the NBN.
The device needs to be plugged into a power socket and you may also receive a battery to provide you with back-up for voice calling in case there's a power failure.
These five locations were selected by NBN Co because they represent the diverse situations they will encounter during the network rollout. The sites offer significant variety in terms of geography, housing type and density, infrastructure and other local factors.
